Tikur Anbessa — Dreamy Ethiopian Coffee

This infusion of fruit acids in this single-origin, premium Ethiopian coffee accentuates the sweetness. Tikur Anbessa has body and vibrant acidity in spades. Its unique aroma includes orange subtle acidity, sugarcane sweetness, and hibiscus mild sourness.  With age of plant 25+ years, natural, traditional fertilization, drying time of 13 — 17 days, 6 — 12 hours fermentation length, and hand-sorted, Tikur Anbessa won  the Good Food Award. You will taste its depth and exceptional structure in every sip. A favorite across the board for its flavor definition, intensity, and consistency is one of the favorites in any Intelligentsia menu.

Kungu Maitu Kenya — Direct Trade Intelligentsia Coffee

With flavors of rainier cherry, red plum, and pineapple, Kungu Maitu Kenya is a seasonal, single origin coffee with exceptional flavor and intensity.  Kungu Maitu Kenya beans bring transparent but complex sweet notes. Achieving the perfect balance of strength and delicacy in a cup of coffee is not an easy task, and is achieved with a one-of-a-kind combination of prolonged dry fermentation, a short soaking stage, and lengthened low-velocity drying period. The unique combination of cool nights and intense sunlight in the area where the coffee beans grow encourages the abundance of sugars and organic acids.  The unique name of this coffee, ”Kungu Maitu”, is inspired by a local song that tells a story about the profound gratitude children feel for the sacrifices parents make. Intelligentsia Coffee chose the name Kungu Maitu to celebrate joy and honor patient nurturing.
